I am a Board certified radiologist and a Board certified Educational Planner. I was Co-Chair of Breast Imaging at a teaching hospital. During my medical career, I published various research papers and had the pleasure of instructing medical students and residents. After practicing as a physician, I decided to return to my counseling roots to become an Independent Educational Consultant (IEC). I complemented my Doctor of Medicine and Master of Education in Counseling with a Certificate in Independent Educational Consulting. My considerable experience and know-how has not only led me to become a Professional Member at IECA, but also to earn the status of a Certified Educational Planner, the highest distinction in the profession granted after meeting rigorous requirements and standards, which include specialized training, long-standing significant experience, and passage of a lengthy knowledge-based, client-centered examination.
For many years, I have extensively educated numerous students and families about colleges and guided them thoughtfully through the application process. I have also gone through the experience with my children, adding another valuable layer to my insight. I regularly tour colleges, meet with admission officers, and attend professional conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest admission policies, trends, and issues. While I have a special affinity for STEM, I have successfully served my clients pursuing many other pathways, including liberal arts, business, film, music, theater, along with undecided and transfer students. I immensely enjoy working with young adults and I consider it a privilege to be a significant part of their important collegiate journey.
